What makes you an expert?
But what makes you an expert?
It's a fair question and one I've been asked a few times lately. The answer, like most things, is multifaceted.
So today, I’m going to dive into this topic!
Firstly, I'm a trained relationship coach equipped with the knowledge and tools to guide others through the complexities of modern relationships. Beyond the formal training, I've also spent over a decade actively navigating the ENM lifestyle myself.
This lived experience, the highs and lows, the learning and growth, has been an invaluable teacher. And finally, I've built a thriving coaching business from the ground up, dedicated to helping others explore ethical non-monogamy with confidence and clarity. This journey has been a testament to my commitment and passion, culminating in the exciting launch of my new masterclass course very soon. It's interesting, though, where some of these questions come from.
Often, I sense a hint of frustration or even jealousy. It's like they're thinking, "Why her? Why did she take that leap and I didn't?" And I get it. It was scary to start Thiskindagirl. It was vulnerable, and I faced my share of criticism and doubt. But I did it because I genuinely wanted to help people. I wanted to dispel the myths and misconceptions surrounding ENM and create a supportive community. It wasn't about ego or self-promotion; it was about making a difference.
There are times, I'll admit when I want to fire back at the naysayers to prove my worth and justify my path. But I know that's ultimately a futile exercise. Engaging with negativity only fuels it. My energy is better spent focusing on the positive impact I can have, on continuing to learn and grow, and on supporting those who are genuinely seeking guidance and understanding.
My expertise isn't about proving anything to anyone; it's about using my knowledge and experience to empower others on their own relationship journeys.
Love,
