Members Map

The Members Map is centered around your postal code, assuming you are logged in and have entered a postal code into your profile.

Click on each pin to see a popup of that member. Each pin matches a member profile below the map. If you click on the member image in the popup, you'll end up on that member's profile. 

Did you enter a postal code into your profile?

If you didn't enter a postal code into your profile, you will see members ordered alphabetically, regardless of how far they are from you.

Do all members appear on the Members Map? 

Only if they want to. Each member must do two things to appear on the Members Map.

1. Members must enter a postal code into their profile. 
2. Each member must configure their Privacy Settings. There is an option for: Who can see my location? This is set to Community by default--meaning anyone who is logged in can see your location on the Members Map. Those who desire more privacy can set this to Friends Only or No One.

How do I search for Members? The search form appears when you click the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the Members Map page.

Member Proximity Restrictions

We recommend you set this to a distance you are willing to drive (or fly). Why tease yourself with people who are out of reach?

Member Activity

1. All Members: This will cast the widest net, but you will likely catch some members who aren't currently active. 
2. Online Last 7 Days: This is a good option if you only want active members but aren't necessarily looking to chat with them right now.
3. Online Now: These folks have been active on the site within the last 60 minutes. This is your best option if you are looking for people to chat with now. 

Alternate Address

Are you going on a trip? Search for members near your destination. You can enter an exact address, the name of a city, or a famous landmark. Select one of the options that auto-complete offers you.

The map will recenter on your Alternate Address when you click Submit. The search results will be displayed according to the distance from your Alternate Address.

Searching is based on MATCHES ALL

If you search using Country, City, or Postal Code, your results will be based on your Proximity, AND Country, AND City, AND Postal Code.

We recommend that most users use the Proximity Restriction and leave the Country, City, and postal code blank.

Searching Profile Characteristics

Again, searching is based on MATCHES ALL.

A blank field means ANY, not NONE. A blank field will not reduce your search results. When in doubt, leave the field blank.

For example, If you select Member Profile looking for a:

1. MF Couple - Both Heterosexual, AND
2. Single Woman - Gay 

Then your result set will contain ONLY member profiles who are looking for 1) MF Couple - Both Heterosexual AND 2) Single Woman - Gay.

You are most likely not both of these things. You should select the criteria that match your profile.

Likewise, if you select 4 Activities, your search results will include ONLY those profiles that MATCHES ALL 4 Activities. You will not see any search results that match 3 of the 4 of those activities.

Select only those activities that are an absolute requirement or perform multiple searches based on different activities.
